Sogo Kakutogi and Budo Karate School combines different disciplines of the Martial Arts such as Karate (Kyokushin based), Grappling and Kobudo (Weaponary training). For adults and advanced teens we offer Sogo Kakutogi classes where we teach traditional Karate skills with the extension of functional fighting including grappling and throwing not generally practiced in traditional Karte classes.

Our Programs

Martial Arts Classes

Young Warriors

Children 5-13 years old

This class is based on Kyokushin Karate with emphasis on building your child’s confidence, strength and physical fitness through the art of traditional karate.

Sogo Kakutogi and Budo

Adults and teens 13+ Monday & Wednesday 6:30pm – 8:30pm.

It is based on Kyokushin Karate a Japanese ‘Fighting art’ and consists of hard training that concentrates on physical and mental fitness. Classes are traditionally longer than normal karate classes (approx. 2 hours) and physically challenging but very rewarding.

Kobudo Weaponry

Kobudo is the old art of Okinawan weaponry. This type of training was traditionally taught alongside karate but in later years is sometimes taught as Kobudo on its own.

Student Reviews

5/5

I cannot recommend Jon and Blayne enough, karate is much more than a sport. My son has improved his focus, strength, co-ordination, social skills, concentration and confidence. He looks forward to classes and is so proud every time he earns a new grade. All the kids are treated with respect and enjoy their classes immensely.

Young Warriors Dojo teaches the value of hard work. It has a good balance between fitness and finesse, teaches endurance (mentally, physically and spiritually) and know how hard to push while keeping it fun. Jon and the team are passionate about the martial way and want to share their knowledge and love for karate.
